GirlOnWax Violinist Gillian (aka Gillian Carrabré) is a professional Violinist, improvisor, arranger & composer.
She began her violin training at the age of three and has since graduated with performance degrees from McGill University and The University of Ottawa, and has attended master classes with some of the world’s most celebrated Violinists (James Ehnes).
Gillian’s forte is performing Wedding Ceremonies & Cocktail Events where she can play a multitude of genres from Top 40 Violin covers to songs from The Bridgerton Soundtrack and everything in between!
Gillian also has a passion for popular music, and has worked in a number of exciting collaborations such as: a member of Michael Buble’s Orchestra for a recent cross-Canada tour; as a soloist performing in Italy; as a member of Ontario-based folk-rock band ‘Ilvekyo’ (who opened for the Matthew Good Band and the Sheep Dogs); in a Hip-Hop group called ‘Classicool’ and as an Electronic Violinist, improvising with live DJs in dance-clubs (and has recently partnered with GirlOnWax DJ Barron S!).
