Brian Engstrom

For the past three decades Brian has had the good fortune to have played many styles of music with various bands and artists in the Vancouver music scene. From performing in Jazz Bands to accompanying Nightclub & Lounge DJ’s to Big Bands, Rock bands, Top 40 & SKA bands, R&B/ Motown horn sections, ‘Big Daddy’ as he’s known to his musician friends, loves to play it all! Whether it’s a wedding, a corporate event, gala, club date or a festival stage, Brian’s favourite thing to do is play live in front of an audience, and it shows!

Taking up the saxophone in school band at 13 years old, Brian found that the instrument quickly captivated him and took up most of his time. He received great encouragement and instruction from his school band director Dave Proznick at Semiahmoo Secondary, a nationally recognized music program that has proved to be the starting ground for dozens of successful professional musicians and music educators.

He performs/jams with DJ’s to all genres of music; from Current Top 40 and Old School Throwbacks, to Lounge, Jazz, Tropical House/St Tropez/Mykonos/Ibiza style, to any decade of music from the 1920’s to today! His charisma is infectious.

In addition to playing with DJ’s, Brian is currently playing with Vancouver R&B / Soul group ‘Souled Out’ and with ‘Feelin Alright’ a Tribute to Joe Cocker band, his range is off the charts!
