GirlOnWax DJ Alexa has been DJing for 5+ years in Victoria, BC, The Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. She’s an engaging DJ with a lot of charisma! Alexa can perform any style of music, is excellent at reading the crowd, and has a great reputation for packing the dance-floor. The positive energy that she brings to each DJ set is contagious!
She’s DJ’ed opening sets for respected DJ’s like: Neon Steve, Adam Shaikh, Ben Fox, Stickybuds, Apple Cat & Rennie Foster, to name a few.
DJ Alexa enjoys curating new music playlists for each client. When asked which music genres she DJ’s: “I have a huge repertoire of music! It all depends on the client or couple and their likes and dislikes. I base each new DJ set on their music profile and take extensive notes in each music consultation.”
Examples of genres our GirlOnWax DJ’s spin: Top 40 & Pop, House, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s & 80’s, Nu Disco, Hip-Hop, Rap, Funk, Country, Tropical House, Cocktail/Lounge, Retro Classics, Indie, Electronic, Motown, Oldies, Classic Rock, Drum & Bass, Techno, Throwbacks: 90’s 2000’s & 2010s, Jazz, Electro Swing and International Music (Traditional and Modern). No genre is off-limits.
I love DJing because the feeling of seeing people pause from the everyday to immerse themselves in the experience at events & weddings brings me great satisfaction and joy! To curate unique vibes and help people celebrate love & life is one of my favourite parts!
